Purpose
The system is designed to prevent freezing in observation systems installed in freezing-prone areas.
Multiple sensors monitor local weather conditions and activate heating elements accordingly.
The system includes a folding mode for protection against harsh weather. Folding can be manual or automatic — if power is lost for more than 30 minutes, the unit folds for protection. Upon power restoration, the unit automatically unfolds, checks for freezing, and, if necessary, performs defrosting before resuming operation.
A central controller automatically manages sensors and operations, connected to a remote-control panel in the operations room for status monitoring, sensor readings, and manual overrides.
The unit is designed for installation on a level concrete surface, providing an unobstructed 180° field of view.
System Sensors
Freezing Sensor – Detects ice formation on the exposed part of the system (sensor has low-power heating).
Rain Sensor – Detects internal moisture to determine rain or snow conditions.
Ambient Temperature Sensor – Measures surrounding air temperature for comparison.
System Temperature Sensor – Measures the temperature of air from heating elements.
